Situation and character of the vampire are used to outline the importance of relationships in “Interview With A Vampire” in many ways. When we look at Louis, he lived in agony as a vampire as he had to separate from his family who considered him dead from the fire in their house. He loved them so much he had to let them go as he could not let them know he was a vampire. Louis was not accustomed to being a vampire and did not want to get accustomed to the vampire lifestyle. He was not very comfortable with the idea of being a vampire and did not live amongst the others of his kind well. Louis’s human nature allowed him to feed off of animals which was seen as a weakness to the other vampires but Louis did not care as he still had a heart. This allowed him to form a very strong bond with Claudia. The relationship between Claudia, Louis and Lestat is that of a strong one.
