J.R.R. Tolkien_The Annotated Hobbit

The annotated hobbit reflects the hero's journey. He goes through the process of the call to adventure, by going on the adventure with Gandalf. He refuses at first as most hero's on the journey do. After he decides to go he goes through self doubt and troubles being heroic. He makes selfless decisions and saves the day in the end. The hero's journey doesn't always have to be specific to the pattern as every hero and hero's tory is different like this unique story.
